A half day in Frankfort: three museums on one ticket

One ticket, three museums

KHS lists its campus open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, and closed Mondays. Admission includes all three locations, their exhibits and the daily tours: adults $8, youth 6 to 18 $6, active duty and veterans $6, children 5 and under free. Tickets are sold online or in person. Fuel and food are extra.

Start at the Kentucky History Center

The History Center at 100 West Broadway has a daily 15-minute gallery talk at 11 am and a 30-minute tour at 3 pm.

Then the Military History Museum at 1 pm

KHS lists a daily 30-minute exhibit tour at the Kentucky Military History Museum, 125 East Main Street, at 1 pm.

The Old State Capitol at 2 pm

The daily 30-minute Old State Capitol tour is at 2 pm, at 300 West Broadway. KHS says some areas may have limited access while renovation and restoration work goes on.

A free stop: Josephine Sculpture Park

Josephine Sculpture Park, 3355 Lawrenceburg Road, says it is free and open every day from dawn to dusk, with more than 70 works across 40 acres. It is outdoors, so dress for the weather.

Holiday closures

Besides Sundays and Mondays, when the campus is not open, KHS lists these closures for the rest of 2026 and New Year’s: Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after (November 26 and 27), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, January 1, 2027. Check the hours page again before you go.
