Where do I park?

Parking must be bought ahead and none is sold at the track; for Friday, The Hill is $55 and the Blue Grass Airport park and ride is $40 per vehicle, and both are sold out for Saturday. The downtown shuttle is $20 Friday or $40 Saturday per person and needs a race ticket.

What can I bring?

Purses, baby bags and backpacks up to 13 by 9 by 17 inches are searched, but backpacks and drawstring packs are also on the banned list, so bring a small purse. Saturday is Halloween, and masks of any kind are banned unless medically necessary.

What if I don't have a ticket?

Watch for free at Gatton Park downtown, where the Breeders’ Cup Festival lists a watch party with the races on a giant screen from 11 am to 6 pm both days.

Gatton Park's own page could not be read at this check, so the hours come from the festival's listing.

I have a ticket

Friday the admission gates open at 9:30 am, first post is 11:55 am and the first championship race goes off at 2:55 pm. Saturday the gates open at 9 am, first post is 11:15 am and the championship races start at 1:10 pm. Post times are approximate and can move. Your ticket is mobile only, so add it to your phone wallet before you leave the house in case cell service is thin at the track.

What to bring and what to wear

The admission policy allows purses, baby bags and backpacks up to 13 by 9 by 17 inches and searches every bag, but its banned list also names backpacks and drawstring bags, so carry a small purse or baby bag and expect a search. Leave outside food, drinks, chairs, coolers and blankets at home. Most areas outside the Clubhouse and Paddock Building have no formal dress code; business casual or smart casual is the suggestion. The Clubhouse, suites and the named dining rooms are business formal, which means a suit or sport coat with a collared shirt and tie for men, and no denim, shorts or athletic wear.

I don’t have a ticket

Go early instead. Sunrise Trackside: Breeders’ Cup Edition runs Monday through Thursday, October 26 to 29, from 7 to 10 am, and it is free with no ticket. You can watch the Breeders’ Cup horses work on the main track and buy coffee and a light breakfast at the first-floor concessions. If you still want a race day, the official ticket page showed only Friday trackside general admission available, starting at $85, when rechecked October 23, 2026. Dining, box seating and reserved seating were sold out for both days. Check the official seller again before planning around a ticket.

Watch the races downtown

Gatton Park has a free watch party both race days with the broadcast on a big screen, food trucks and music. It is a separate event from Keeneland, so nobody needs a race ticket. Bring a chair or blanket within park rules and confirm the schedule before each day.

Getting around downtown at night: LexRide

Lextran’s free LexRide circulator runs Thursday to Saturday from 4 pm to midnight between Downtown, the Distillery District and the Warehouse Block/National Avenue area, so it covers both race nights after you get back to town. Lextran lists the frequency as “Buses every 12 to 15 minutes.” LexRide is a 2026 pilot and Saturday, October 31 is its last night. It does not go to Keeneland. Lextran says no alcohol, food or open drinks are allowed on board.

With kids

Kids 12 and under get free general admission when they come with a paid adult general admission ticket. Children under 2 are free in reserved areas on a lap; anyone 2 and older who needs a seat needs a reserved ticket, and those are sold out. Strollers carrying a child are allowed. If the track sounds like too much, Hallowhinny at the Kentucky Horse Park falls on Saturday, October 31 with trick-or-treating and costumed horse shows.

Getting there and parking

Every parking pass has to be bought ahead of time; none are sold at the track on race days. The Hill is on-site grass parking with a free shuttle to the gates: $55 Friday per vehicle; Saturday and two-day passes were sold out when rechecked October 27, 2026. The Blue Grass Airport park and ride is $40 Friday per vehicle, with Saturday and two-day passes sold out at the same check, and a free shuttle of about 5 to 7 minutes that first leaves at 9:15 am Friday and 8:45 am Saturday; walking from the airport is not allowed. The downtown shuttle leaves from West Short Street near North Upper Street, takes about 20 minutes, costs $20 Friday, $40 Saturday or $60 for both days per person, starts at 9 am Friday and 8:30 am Saturday, and you need a race ticket to ride. Return shuttles run up to 90 minutes after the last race. Rideshare drops at a dedicated lot at Gate 1 at Versailles Road and Man O’ War Boulevard. ADA parking is sold out for both days.

Brunch before a downtown outing

Dudley’s on Short lists brunch Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 2:30 pm at 259 West Short Street. This is a separate restaurant stop, not part of a festival or race ticket. Check current hours and book directly if needed; menu prices and table availability are not confirmed here. Hours and address rechecked on the restaurant’s website October 23, 2026.

Parking and transport before you choose

Compare the separate race-day parking and shuttle arrangements with downtown festival access. A downtown stop does not imply free parking or a shuttle to Keeneland. Use the practical guide for source links and check the organizer’s current restrictions before leaving.

Before you go

Some Keeneland spots are cashless this year: the public dining rooms, the Keeneland Shop and roaming drink vendors. Cash still works at the betting windows, concessions and bars. Race and festival details, including parking and child admission, were checked against official pages on October 20; ticket availability and the food section record separate October 23 checks. Post times and policies can change, so read them again the morning you go. Ticket questions go to tickets@breederscup.com or 859-514-9428, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
