Fayette Mall opens at 7 am on Black Friday
Fayette Mall, 3401 Nicholasville Road, is closed on Thanksgiving Day. It lists 7 am to 9 pm on Friday, November 27, 10 am to 8 pm on Saturday, November 28 and noon to 6 pm on Sunday, November 29. The mall notes that businesses with outside doors may keep their own hours, and its directory has each store's.

Lexington Green, 161 Lexington Green Circle, posts regular hours of 10 am to 9 pm Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 pm Sunday, notes that store hours may vary and lists no holiday hours. Hamburg Pavilion, 2308 Sir Barton Way, posts no center-wide hours; it sends shoppers to its directory for each store and says restaurants and bars stay open later. Its Longstone Crafters pop-up markets end before Thanksgiving, with November 21 as the last listed date.
Small Business Saturday, November 28
The U.S. Small Business Administration dates Small Business Saturday 2026 to November 28. Our Thanksgiving week guide lists the Lexington Art League's Holiday Market at Loudoun House that weekend. Downtown Lexington Partnership's event calendars could not be read when we checked, so no downtown Small Business Saturday events are listed here yet.
Friday night: UK basketball and live music
UK men's basketball plays Wichita State at Rupp Arena at 9 pm on Friday, November 27. Black Stone Cherry plays Manchester Music Hall the same night, with doors at 7 pm and the show at 8 pm, and Magnolia Boulevard plays the first of two Friendsgiving nights at The Burl. The Lyric Theatre lists its Black Friday Concert Series of soul, R&B and jazz for November 27 but has not posted a start time.

Saturday: UK football hosts Louisville
UK hosts Louisville in Lexington on Saturday, November 28, for the Governor's Cup, Senior Day and a Blue Out. UK's schedule still lists the kickoff time as TBA, so check it again that week.

Southern Lights at the Kentucky Horse Park runs nightly from 5:30 to 10 pm through December 31, at $35 a carload. The foundation's page gives November 27 as the first night in one place and November 28 in another, so confirm with the foundation before you go on Friday.
Date needs confirmation. The foundation's 2026 event information and Dates/Time FAQ say November 27, but Plan Your Visit on the same page says November 28. The opening date remains unresolved. Treat this guide’s event suggestion as unconfirmed until the organizer and seller agree.

City waste collection skips Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27; both days are picked up early, on Wednesday, November 25. Library branches close at 5 pm on November 25 and all day on Thanksgiving. Lextran's holiday service alerts had no 2026 Thanksgiving notice when we checked on October 27.
As of 2025: Lextran ran a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day 2025 with fares waived, and all routes returned to regular service the next day, Friday, November 28, 2025.
