LCT lists this sensory-friendly public performance of Tomás and the Library Lady on Sunday, January 31, 2027, at 2 pm at the theatre, 418 West Short Street. It is the true story of Tomás Rivera, who grew up in a migrant worker family and learned to love books with the help of a librarian, and LCT says the play can be readily understood by both English and Spanish speakers. In LCT’s words, sensory friendly performances are designed to be a safe environment for young people with sensory sensitivities or disabilities, as well as first time theatre goers. The house lights stay dimmed, loud recorded sound is turned down, seating is general admission and a quiet space is set aside for anyone who needs a break.
